Hydroxymitragynine Side Effects

Hydroxymitragynine, a highly potent alkaloid constituent of kratom, is an alkaloid of great analgesic and opioid effects. The consumption of this alkaloid may result in some side effects. At common levels, nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and drowsiness may be reported. Other severe effects may be experienced with larger doses such as respiratory depression, sedation, and loss of motor function. Another level of side effects occurs with prolonged or constant use: associated tolerance, dependence, and withdrawal symptoms resembling that of traditional opioids. There might also be some psychological effects, including anxiety, irritability, or mood changes (especially during sudden withdrawal). Due to the potency that it exhibits, hydroxymitragynine carries a heavier risk profile than mitragynine, another main kratom alkaloid. Persons affected by ill health or who otherwise use any CNS depressants must exercise extreme caution. Research about hydroxymitragynine is ever evolving, so users must proceed cautiously and always seek professional medical advice before commencing any use, especially for chronic pain management or treatment of any other condition.
